Sammy is a teenager with disenfranchised violent men all around him. Kate watches Sammy from across the hall of their commission flats. This is the story of their inevitable demise.
“Abuse causes you to grow up a lot faster. This is the story of the abuse I suffered. It’s my aim with the film for you to feel what it’s like to be a teenager with experiences happening around you in a world surrounded by violence, and controlled by men. This is a story about my neighborhood the kids I grew up with, from homes of abuse with households with no money the victims of crime just average kids with no way out. My hope is that this film raises the topic of sexual abuse and awareness in a tasteful and thought-provoking manner. With the royal commission and the #me too movement being so relevant I think this is a good platform to show young people it’s okay to talk about these things. We do have a voice and our story is worth listening to.”
