A Long Drive

With the housing crisis and unprecedented increases to cost of living in 2025 Ria and Amos are married Filipino migrants who are having their Australian VISA processed. Due to work commitments they live a long drive away from each other. Struggling with rent, agent fee’s and the financial commitment it takes to build a pathway to permeant residency Ria receives a phone call that will make the road forward much more difficult to travel.

A Long Drive has just been nominated for best film at the 41st St Kilda Film Festival in June 2025. Accredited by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, the St Kilda Film Festival is an Academy Awards® qualifying event. Award-winning films from the Festival are eligible for consideration in the Short Film Awards and Documentary Short sections of the Oscars®.
